I have always learned things the hard way and the ways of credit was no exception. We were 23 and almost 50k in debt - yikes! It was just too easy when every week there was a new credit card in the mail. When dh broke his leg and our income was in half we lived on the cards for a few months...it was really scary. And of course NO ONE would work w/ us as far as payments...."We can't help until you are in default" We scraped for almost 3 more years to stay afloat and then I lost my job and that was the clincher!! Since the bk, I totally swore of credit - paid cash for EVERYTHING! We have slowly incorporated credit cards back into our life as they are somewhat of a necessity. We are buying a SUV next month and it scares the crap out of me - we are putting 12.5 down on it and I wish it was more! I know as long as I am scared I will stay smart about it all!!

Amazing how this comes full circle after so much grief and why I kept saying stop trying to convince ME something WAS offensive -- they have already decided and the answer is in this thread, one only has to read it.
